Legal Question in Employment Law in California
Giving notice to leave job
If an employee give 2 week notice verbally, to leave a job, and then decides to change
her mind, and stay employed, does the employer have to honor that and give you back
your shifts? They are going to give me one back, and not the other. I would like to
keep both of my shifts, and was told by the person who makes the schedule that she
didn't have time to talk to me about it, and was not going to change the schedule back
and take away shifts promised to someone else. This new schedule was made out the
same day that I gave my notice and it was a few days shorter than the notice date that
I gave. I also changed my mind before the 2 weeks was up. What might be my recourse?? Thank you for this website. It is very interesting.

they do not have to take you back at all. you are lucky to have a job at all.
