Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Harassment/Fit to work

My husband is being harassed at work by administration and other employees. He was out ill and hospitalized with bleeding ulcers and upon returning was verbally attacked by an employee. Ultimately found the other employee was fired by the Sheriff's department and brought this to his supervisor's attention. We work for a school district and the person was fired and charged with a felony. Now as a result my husband has been placed on Administrative Leave pending a Fit for Work evaluation. His union is really not supportive and he has done nothing wrong. What can we do. They are damaging his reputation and making false statements about him. He goes for his evaluation on April 19th, 2006. We just don't know what to do, he is being railroaded to protect this other person who shouldn't even be employed at a public school district.

Re: Harassment/Fit to work

Not much to say, except that your husband must get in to see an experienced employment law attorney as soon as possible. While this forum can provide general advice to more generic questions, you need extensive specific legal advice, based on much more information than your statement provides. An attorney will have many questions about the events that have unfolded. You and your husband can help by preparing a detailed chronology of all pertinent facts and have it available for attorneys your husband consults with.
