Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Hostile Work Environment

I would like to see if I have any legal recourse against my employers.

Where does the law stand as far as mistreatment/mental abuse or harassment

in the workplace? Are there any laws governing emotional/mental treatment

of employees?

Re: Hostile Work Environment

Your question is extremely broad. In short, there are laws regarding emotional / mental treatment of employees. Workers' compensation provides payment of medical expenses and compensation for temporary and permanant disability, for physical as well as mental disabilities arising out of and in the course and scope of employment.

In the event of harassment on the basis of protectected status (age, race, ethnicity, sex, etc.)California and Federal discrimination laws will apply.
