hostile work environment
I recently worked at a company where the president maintained a hostile work environment, with threats of physical violence against employees for such issues as leaving cigarette butts on the ground. (He threatened in a company-wide e-mail ''If I catch you, I'll make you eat them.'') This is just one example. There are plenty more. He also tends to only hire and promote workers of his own race. The favoritism is blatant.
I finally got so fed up with the situation that I left the company, even though it meant a 30% pay cut to go to another company.
Now that I see my much smaller pay checks, I wonder if I did the right thing. What should I have done differently?

If statute of limitation has run, nothing you can now do. However, need more information re timing of your departure, etc.

Obviously, there are a lot more issues than we can go into here. If you believe that your race was a substantial factor in the creation and maintenance of the hostile work environment, it may be actionable by a lawsuit.
