Legal Question in Employment Law in California
Is it illegal to emotionally distress and abuse employees to the point when the
I worked for a company where the manager would constantly gossip, berrate, snap at and yell, reprimand recklessly, sabatoge, brain wash and terminate employees right and left. In addition money from the petty cash box was missing on a constant 3-6 month basis. Money was stolen from my personal wallet twice. The stealing got to the point to where the whole black cash box came up missing. Each time the cleaning crew was blamed although on occasion the money would become missing when the cleaning crew actually was not assigned on that day. On two occasions, two different competent employees were terminated by the reckless manager instead of the CEO. Employees including myself have obtained physical and mental illness which has effected both productivity and overall general health, even becoming potentially serious. Other problems in addition to wrongful termination is slander, reference slander, unethical policies and decisions. Lastly, constant discriminatory statements and facts are used by this company in order to carry out assignments. I would like to know if there is a possibility of legal action or recourse available.
