Do I have an Implied Contract and does my employer need to show good cause?
Iwas recently approached by a former employer asking me to resume my posistion, and told me if I returned to work I could have my choice of shifts. This company recently hired a new manager who after 3weeks would not supply me with a schedule. Now the manager wants to fire me for failure to appear for work. I discussed this with the owner of the company who at frist told me not to worry just please hang in and that my posistion was secure. Well I did that and now I'm not only out of a job but the income I would have earned during the time I was ''hanging in there''. Can they do this?

I think you have an arguable case for implied contract.

it sounds like yes, you probably have an implied employment contract which, if true, infers that termination should be only for just cause . . .
you should either see a lawyer for specific analysis of your case and advice on how to proceed . . .
