Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Is this insubordination

My boss asked me to change my hours, he gave me a couple of different schedules and told me to come back to him and tell him what I wanted to do. I went back to him and explained why neither schedules worked for me. He said he--name removed--think about it and get back to me. The next day he said that I had to change my hours. I again said that these really didnt work for me. Then he got upset, and walked out saying he had a meeting and would talk to me later. 10 days later he called me and said I was being insubordinate!! and suggested I look for another job!! Does this make any sense? I was under the impression he would talk to me later, but obviously he wasnt.

What are my options?? thanks for your help.

Re: Is this insubordination

An employer can change hours, working conditions and even wages for most at will employees. Failure to work the schedule will place you at risk for the employer's discipline.
