Internships

I am interested in finding out the guidelines a small company should follow in the process of sponsoring an intern. I believe that certain schools require that a student complete an apprenticeship as part of the training process and usually no wage is required. Can anyone offer some input regarding pay/no pay guidelines, documentation requirements for sponsorship process, residency requirements, etc. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

This is not legal advice, but I would suggest you get in touch with internship coordinators at schools that offer programs in your type of business or profession. Most of them are more than happy to explain procedures to you and help you find a suitable intern. If you don't know who to contact, try starting with the school's placement office.
