Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Invasion of Privacy?

I recently left a corporation after I was denied advancement during my three-month review. During this review, I found out that my employer had been reading my e-mail, including e-mails that I had sent home to myself. Not only was I embarassed to find this out, but I feel as though it had everything to do with my being denied advancement. Would you happen to know anything about the legality of an employer reading others' e-mails without informing them?

Thank you,

A lot of people get burned with email

If you are on your employers computer and on the employers email system hey have the right to read everything with or with out your knowledge or consent. A lot of people get burned with email.
