Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Jury Duty

I had jury duty last week. I notified my empolyer a month in advance. Never was I told that they didn't pay for jury duty. I was told yesterday after the fact. I wasn't given the option to be excused from jury duty. My employer doesn't have this policy in writing. Do I have any legal rights to go to the labor board with this?

Re: Jury Duty

No. An employer has no oboligation to pay for jury service and the lack of pay is not a reason to be excused from jury service.
