Legal Question in Employment Law in California

labor board judgment

I have a judgment made in my favor by the court for a labor dispute for the amount of $9800 under California labor code 98.2(d). I have heard that it is difficult to collect on judgments especially from those who are crafty at avoiding such payments. My question is, is it possible that there actual are legal loopholes that this person can use to try and weasle out of paying? Or, will this judgment follow them acrruing interest so that I will get the justice that the legal system has entitiled me. I need to know so I can figure out my next course of action. Also, what other legal options do I have left to quickly collect other than the services of a collection agency? Their charges are way to high for me. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Re: labor board judgment

Have you served the employer with a judgment debtor examination? A judge would require the debtor to answer your questions about where the assets are, i.e. bank accounts, houses, cars, etc. Check with your local court or bar association for further details.
