Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Laid off

The company has sites in CA, IA, TN and GA. They laid off 8 people in each site stating ''due to lack of need.'' Four weeks later they hired 30 people, WHO DO THE SAME EXACT JOB in TN. Can they do that?

Unless you have evidence the layoffs were motivated by unlawful reasons, yes they can.
