Legal Question in Employment Law in California

I was laid off in October 2009. Since that time, I have been living off savings and have exhausted my savings. I have resorted to withdrawing my 401K from my former employer. However, they have not provided documentation to state that I am no longer employed there and refused to expedite this request. What are my options?

You do not need to have documentation to state that you are no longer working to apply for unemployment. You can just apply, and EDD will confirm that you are not working.

Good luck.
