i was just laid off, after 2 years of full time work, and they gave me only two weeks severance and no vacations or medical benefits, what should i demand?

The company must pay all earned and unused vacation time or PTO and if the company, not unused sick time. If you had medical insurance, the company must advise the insurance carrier that you are no longer with the company and the ins. carrier must advise you of your right to purchase COBRA insurance. There is no legal requirement that the company pay severance unless the company has a policy or precedent of doing so.
