Legal Question in Employment Law in California
My Lawyer Filed My Case With Information That I Told Him--In Writing-- Not To In
My personal charge cards were out of control, combination of business expenses and personal (not Nordstroms or Macy's!). Started my own business--corporate downsizing after 10 years as Marketing Director--used my credit cards (clients not paying!)--couldn't get SBA loan cause I wasn't in business 2 years. Well now I am in business for more than 2 years.
Here's the question: I specifically instructed lawyer NOT to file any of my AMEX cards (2 personal/2 biz). I received notice from AMEX that they've stopped all my cards--and cut my credit line of $7,000. I'm FRANTIC because I'm scheduled for court on 8/30--I've paid these guys $1,100. He said--"I told you this would happen" HE NEVER TOLD ME! I've got everything in writing! I'm building an eCommerce business, writing a business plan. I plan to ask VC for $250,000 - $1.5 million. How are they going to see this? And, why won't AMEX give me my cards back--it was the lawyers error. (I understand AMEX position--but I thought bankruptcy is not discriminating).

Re: My Lawyer Filed My Case
it is illegal not to disclose assets or debts in a bankruptcy. By fully disclosing your lawyer was able to keep his licence and keep your dumb ass out of jail.
