Legal Question in Employment Law in California
Is is legal for a company to put GPS tracking systems on just a couple of employ
Work had a trial period and chose to put this tracking system on my van and one others. They then turned them off after the trial. Now they turned it back on without any notification and has not put it on all of their vans. I find this discrimmating. Especially since I am hispanic and no caucasions have this system on their vans. I feel if I have to have this on my van, then everyone should have to have it also.

Ask your boss why it's on your van and not the others. A guess is not good enough. If you're making an ancestry or national origin-based discrimination claim, it would be useful to know why. Perhaps the routes are not the same and you drive to areas where van thefts are more prevalent than do the non-Hispanics. Just a thought. If you believe it is discriminatory (perhaps based upon other conduct or comments as well), you might wish to file a discrimination complaint with the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing.
