Are there any limits on the amount of hours you can work a inmate worker daily ?

I presume the California Wage and Hour laws don't really apply (at least as to the minimum wage requirement) in Prison, but there is the Eighth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which prohibits "cruel and unusual" punishment. If the inmate must work all day every day or very long hours, I suppose there is an argument that would violate his constitutional rights.
