Legal Question in Employment Law in California
I did not live up to their high religious standards
2 years ago I had an affair with a teacher. I asked my supervisor for referrels to marriage counseling, he said he should just fire me and referred me to his church. At the time my shop steward told me to be careful because they were out to get me. Afer the affair ended I transfered to a new school, this woman continued to harrass me at work, I reported this to my supervisor and he said it was my problem. One supervisor is telling staff I am a gang member(I am not), and they are afraid I am going to kill somebody. My supervisors try to get rid of me every time my wife and I separate. I moved out 17 days ago, and one week later I was placed on Adm.leave for investagation of sexual harrassment. I learned that the investigation was started when my coworker told the supervisor, his good friend, that 2 husbands came to the school and wanted to fight me,this is not the truth. While I have been on leave, the adm. has questioned all the female personnel. I have also received disparity of treatment in discipline and anual leave. I don't have the same religious convictions as supervision but does that give them the right to torment me?
