Legal Question in Employment Law in California
i live and work in CA. 2 days ago, my employer provided me with a "CA wage theft protection" form to sign. the problem is, i have been working there since november of 2012 and I had a change of pay rate in January 4, 2013. The company pays me a base pay of $200 a week (which encompasses 44-46 hours with no over time pay) plus accumulated commission. I declined to sign it since it was not my date of hire two days ago and I fear that I am not getting paid what I should be. Was there something shady with this? Because I told my employer that I was advised not to sign it (a lawyer friend) so i didn't sign it and this morning, my boss called me and said he is going to edit the paperwork properly so I can sign it. I feel that something is weird but I am not for sure. Thanks!

Depending on the specifics, your employer may be violating various aspects of the California labor code including payment of minimum wage and overtime pay.
