how long does an employer have?

My husband is leaving his job and taking another. His employer already terminated his medical insurance. Can they do that? How long are they supposed to keep him insured?

Typically, medical insurance cannot be terminated until the last day of employment. Also, by law, the employer is required to offer COBRA. This allows the employee to pay for the medical insurance at a monthly cost for a limited amount of time.
