Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Hi I am about to lose my job in a week, my employer gave us 60 days lay-off notice & last week they gave us a Severance Agreement with a severance pay equivalent to only 1 week of my salary. The agreement is contingent upon signing so I want to know If it the amount is fair since I have been working with the company for 4 years.Thank you.

Fair has nothing to do with it, and without knowing what you are signing away for the one-week's pay, I couldn't begin to guess if it was fair or not anyway. Bottom line, though, is they are not obligated to pay you anything. A lot of people don't get 60-days notice, much less an additional week's pay. So whatever you get is more than they owe you legally.
