Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Lost wages

I have been unfairly laid off from a large aerospace company.I have worked through the ranks for 14 years.Title-Manufacturing Engineer Associate.Scrutinized continually in order to improve by skills/knowledge.Consistently attended classes others were not asked to do and made accomplishments improving processes. Completed 500 hrs (own time) in a totally job related field(company sponsored) led to believe it was to keep my job. I could have spent time getting a degree worth something. I was laid off due to lack of work. The work is there, men from an unrelated division replaced me. No one could give me the criteria for who got laid off and who stayed. I was the only woman in the organization. I am 53 years old. I cannot get my retirement until 55 years old, then only 75% of what it could have been at age of 65 plus. I have since read my final termination notice, it is absolutely inaccurate. There are boxes marked for production performance, quality of work, attitude, attendance and punctuality that are derogatory beyond belief. I can get at least 50 people to make a statement about my character. It is demoralizing enough to be laid off let alone have untrue statements made in your personnel records. I want to sue for lost wages.

Re: Lost wages

You may have a case for wrongful termination based upon age and sex. Lost wages is one element of damages that is recoverable.
