Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Lying in an Interview

My work recently announced that they were cutting 20 jobs from the company. Mine was one of them. However, They had one opening for an Accountant. I applied, as did several over people. The one person who was hired would get to keep their job. I interviewed and felt that I was a shoe in for the position as I have 5 years accounting experience.

I was dumbfounded to learn that the job went to someone who only had two years experience. When my old manager called the hiring manager to ask him why I was not selected for the position he was told that the person who got the job had more experience than I did.

It turns out he lied on her resume! Now I'm out of a job, andshe still has one. Do I have any legal recourse?
