Management Changes Job requirements

Can an employer change the pre-requisites for my position, and then fire me because I�m not qualified for the position based on the new requirements?

There was also a questionable performance issue brought up during the dismissal. I will provide more detail upon request.

unless you have a contract they dont need a reason to fire you.
