Manager Makes Racial Comments/Slurs

I am hispanic and work for a California retailer as a loss prevention agent. In the past four months the store manager has made a variety of racial comments that have offended me. After arresting a hispanic juvenile for shoplifting the manager made a comment that the stolen cologne "didn't smell mexican". This continued with remarks about other employees and generalizations regarding others in my race. The straw that broke the camels back was when he said "you better keep an eye on the (name brand) clothes because all the mexicans just walked in. What should/could I do? Help....

Re: Manager Makes Racial Comments/Slurs

Tell your mgr that his remarks are offensive and that you want them stopped, and hand him a letter to that effect. If it happens again file a written report with his superiors. If no resolution then file a complaint with the EEOC. There should be a poster in the store which tells you where to file.
