medical marijuana

The state of ca. allows legal use of medical marijuana.Is it legal to fire or refuse to hire a legal user of this medicine? Some state workers and applicants have been fired of refused work. Do they have legal recourse? thankyou much.

So far, the suits challenging the medical marijuana prohibitions have been unsuccessful, because the federal government insists the use of marijuana is illegal and does not recognize California's law.

One day, given the right set of circumstances and the right judge(s), that will change. But I can't offer any insight into when.
