Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Minimum that a company has to pay

I am a mechanic/shop manager on call. When I am called in to work on any given day, what is the minimum amount of hours that the company has to pay me for. I have always been paid 4 hours, me being a full time employee. Now they say they only have to pay me 2. Please help!

Re: Minimum that a company has to pay

Section 5a of the IWC's wage orders says that when

employees report to work on a scheduled workday, employers

must provide them with at least half their regular day's

work (or two hours work, whichever is greater) or pay them

a show up premium.
