Legal Question in Employment Law in California
Mislead
I work at a place that has 100 employes. I was given three month notice that the account I was working on was going to end. told by executives that the company was going to try their darnest to get us all on other accounts within the company.
I given a two week notice because the could not find other accounts for me to go on. Supposidly there weren't any other positions available within the company on other accounts. I interested in one account and told no openings. Llater found out that one of the people within the company got onto account I wanted. (Note: person who got onto the account I wanted was on another account that suddenly got dropped, because of legal reasons, a week after I was given two week notice. She was hired to the account that had no openings). I told that I was not being layed off because of performance issue, it just because there were no accounts available.
Other person who was given job on another account I was not offered, happened to be daughter of one of the executives within company. She transferred also from other account facing legal problems. Is that legal?

Re: Mislead
While it sounds like you have been treated very unfairly, nothing in your question indicates that your employer did anything that gives you cause to sue. Being unfair is not illegal.
