Misuse of authority
What are the California Laws on how many breaks,and how long of breaks you get during a 5hr. 8hr. and 10hr.shifts?

Unless the employee's duties make them exempt, the employee, in California is entitled to a ten minute break during each four hour period of work in a workday. So, for a 5 hour shift, one ten minute break. For an 8 hour shift, two ten minute breaks during each of the four hour periods. For the 10 hour shift, two ten minute breaks during each of the four hour periods.

See CA Labor Code Sect. 512, and call the CA Division of Labor Standards Enforcement. This agency has established many regulations specific to given industries and occupations.
