Legal Question in Employment Law in California
Non-discriminatory harrassment
I am a professional in the healthcare industry. I worked for my current employer for a little over 2 years. I have the same supervisor as when I started. She was originally the director of my department and has since stepped down, but continues to supervise myself and one other person. My supervisor is a micro-manager, which has been hard for me, but I have dealt with it until the last several months, since she has stepped down. I feel that she is constantly demeaning me and making me and our clients feel like I am not competent. I am at the point of feeling that way myself. I have gone to HR a few times and had meetings with one of the VP's and have been told things will be taken care of. This was in October. I have since been subjected to a Performance Evaluation that was very negative, continued questioning of my abilities and my integrity and I am now at the point that I want to give up! I don't want to go to work anymore! I don't know what my options are! Quit, file a stress claim, go to a psychiatric hospital..............

Re: Non-discriminatory harrassment
If you cannot effectively address the situation internally, filing a worker's compensation stress claim or taking medical leave is an option, if it can be supported medically. Perhaps serious consideration should be given to proposing a separation package to allow to you resign on your own terms.
