Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Is being "on-call" and being called in to work considered a split shift? We work a normal 8 hour day and then take turns being "on-call". We get $15/night for the responsibilty. If we get called in we get paid overtime. I have two questions. 1) Is this a split shift and does the California Law entitle us to a minimum of 2 hours pay when we come in at night. 2) Does the 1 hour additional pay apply in this case?

If you make more than $9/hr it does not apply.
