Legal Question in Employment Law in California
at orientation our HR lady said that if we take 3 days sick time we are required to bring a note. i on the other hand only took two days off because my back was hurting really bad, my job requires me to sit and type for 11 hours so basicly my back hurts from my job; and for some reason i think my boss is just picking on me. i have many other reasons to back this up. is there anything i can do? or must i comply? this is getting to the point where i want to put in my two weeks, how can i get a doctors notice?! if i was told i only need a notice if i was sick past 3 days, when i was only off for two! he said that i was supposed to come in saturday, but i have a saved voice mail of his boss telling me that "i might have to work A saturday."
so basicly this is what is going on
i took thurs and friday off, i was told i might have to work A saturday in a voice mail.
saturday comes i didnt go in because im not supposed to work weekends, im not scheduled for weekends,
monday comes, first boss comes to me and goes "wheres your doctors note! you didnt come in saturday"
im just super confused i was told my HR 3 days i need a note, does saturday count as my third day being sick?? even when thats supposed to be my normal off time??! whats going on here. im really confused. hopefully someone can help me here.
also, we had our new hire orientation a few weeks ago. ive been working here for nearly 11 months now, is that odd?
i also have many other questions so i hope to hear many answers ;]
btw im supposed to bring in a doctors note today i have no idea how im supposed to do that if i have to goto work today. hopefully i get an answer before i have to clock in, because i really dont know if i should put my two weeks in, i feel like its not my fault, but at the same time they are harassing me.
