Legal Question in Employment Law in California
over-time
I have filed a wage claim against my employer for un-paid over-time. My question is wage claim was filed for Dept. of Labor, can I still sue the employer for willful violation of labor laws on my own? For giving out information on me concerning private issues not directly connected with the wage issue/

Re: over-time
Yes you can. Your wage claim is limited solely to the claims and information you provided in your Complaint with the DLSE. Any other claims not covered therein can be brought as another action either in Court or with the DLSE.
Re: over-time
it depends on the nature of the "private" information that was given out by your employer. you may have standing to sue for invastion of privacy as well as other tortious acts by your employer. email my office today with more specific details on what was given out and why it was given out and i can further assist you legally in this matter.
