Legal Question in Employment Law in California

If I get paid a bonus each quarter and I quit July 1st, and I entitled to the bonus from April-June because they usually wait 1 month to pay the previous quarter bonus. I live in California

It depends on whether the bonus is discretionary or contractual and if the bonus is contractual, what conditions must be met for the bonus to be paid. For example, if one of the conditions is that an employee must be employed at the time the bonus becomes payable, then you will have a problem. If, however, the bonus was already earned and is payable regardless of whether you are still there, you have the right to be paid.

If you have anything in writing that describes the terms of the bonus plan, you should have it reviewed by an employment law attorney.
