Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Paid Holiday

I am currently working for an employer that pays for the Forth of July holiday. But because I have Sat & Sun off I get paid for the 4th. But my employer is having everyone take a day off during the middle of the week with no pay to compensate for the holiday pay is this legal?????

Unless you have a guaranteed work week or work hours, the employer can adjust the schedule to fit his needs - in short, you experienced a one day lay off
