Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Paid less than newer, unqualified emp's.

I have been working for my Co. for 5 years. I have been the Senior support person for the last 3 years and have 9 years total experience in my job. I have just learned that the newest member of my group who started with no experience with this type of work, whom I've been training all along, is making about 5,000.00 per year more than I am. Do I have any legal recourse in this matter ?
