Legal Question in Employment Law in California
I have not been paid overtime (working over eight hours) since I started working for this company. Do I deserve and may I legally obtain financial compensation past what I have worked? I am not sure if I worded that clearly.
My question is what legal recourse do I have?
Is there any lawyers willing to take this on contingency?
I work the graveyard shift for a hotel in Northern California.

You probably do not need a lawyer for this. Contact the state Department of Industrial Relations, Bureau of Labor Standards Enforcement. They will help you evaluate your situation and take a claim application for you if your situation qualifies. The BLSE claim process is a much simpler and quicker way to get paid for any back wages owed than going to court.
