Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Part time vs Full time employment

Have worked for a retail store parttime for over seven years. Also work a fulltime job in another industry. At parttime job filled out an ''availablity work schedule form'' specifically stating hours not in conflict with regular job. Current parttime manager does not honor availability schedule and does not honor 12 hour work week stipulated in contract. What is the ruling on 'parttime vs fulltime work?' I am in the union, I do not want to push the 12 hours because I'm afraid the manager will schedule the hours during my fulltime job and if I do not show up that's grounds for termination. Do I have any legal grounds on this issue?

Re: Part time vs Full time employment

Talk to your Union representative. The Union contract will determine your rights to part-time schedules.
