Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Part-time discrimination

Is there such a thing as discrimination against part-time employees? If all full time employees are offered the opportunity to receive special trainning related to their job, and they are being compensated for their time, are part-time employees entiled to the same opportunity & compensation? Is it appropriate for an employer to discourage a part-time employee from requesting compensation on the basis that they are a part-time employee?

Related: To date, employer has not provided any minimum standard of statistical performance (ie: nbr of calls handled per day/week/month) Is it then appropriate for an employer to state to an employee that they are not meeting the performance standards of the position, when no such standards have been outlined for the employee? No basis of employee performance standards have been provided.

Finally, would an employee who asked for compensation for the aboved mention training time and then found their employer threatening their employment (as mentioned in second paragraph) have a basis for a civil suite against employer if similar instances occur resulting in the termination of employment?
