Legal Question in Employment Law in California
Pay Guarantee
I was hired by a mortgage company with a written guarantee of a specific amount of pay for the first three months of work. The rest of the time it is 100% commission. A month into the job they now say that they cannot give me the guarantee. If I have this in writing do they have to pay it to me and if I insist do they have the right to fire me?

Re: Pay Guarantee
If you have a signed contract then they are legally obligated to pay you. If they fire you over your insistence to get paid then they have breached the contract. Depending on the amount you may want to pursue the matter in small claims court. Good Luck!
