Legal Question in Employment Law in California
Do I have to pay the relocation $ back?
I was recently transfered from one city in CA to another city in CA. In my offer letter my relocation dollars were worded as a "one time supplemental payment to help with my relocation costs". I have not signed any other documents that would bind me to pay this back but, in talking with my counterparts that moved to CA from other states, they were all required to sign a document saying if they left before 2 years they would have to pay the money back. (We both got the same $ amount). Could my company comeback if I decided to leave and force me to payback this money?

Can they come after you?Yes - most the the time a company CAN do anything. Are you obligated to pay it back? I doubt it, if you didn't sign anything or say that you would. Better check everything you may have signed on this topic.
