Legal Question in Employment Law in California

last paycheck

I gave 2 weeks notice to my employer and it has already been over a week and I still haven't rcvd my paycheck. I called and my company's HR Dept stated that it would be available on the next pay day which is the 31st (my last day was the 17th) Can they hold the check so long since I did give my 2 week notice?

No, because you gave notice, you should have received your final check on your last day of employment.
