paying to part at work

just wondering how a employer can charge 800$ a year to park at work without compensation for it. Can this be a tax write-off?

I was transfered to another office within my city and that location is going to charge me to pay to park like everyone else, which is fair, however, with this transfer, there is no increase in wages.

If an employer provides an employee "free" parking by paying a monthly fee, the employer would be required to report such payments as income to the employee and deduct payroll taxes as such. That is why "free" parking stopped many years ago.

If you want lunch, you probably have to pay for it. If you want to park in that lot, you have to pay for it.

You don't have to eat lunch and you don't have to drive to work or park in that lot if you do.
