Legal Question in Employment Law in California
Payment of accrued vacation
What is the obligation of the employer to pay unused accrued vacation when an employee who had given written notice of termination (although less than 2 weeks) decides not to finish out the remaining few days?

Re: Payment of accrued vacation
The "surprise" termination day may result in the employer getting 72 hours to get the final checks together.

Vacation must be paid out at the time that you leave. If not, the employer is required to pay penalties -- you can obtain the money by filing a claim with the Labor Commissioner in your area. Good luck.
