Payroll deductions for exempt employees in California

What are the laws (under all circumstances) for deducting time from exempt employees in the state of CA?

Your question is very broad. In general, exempt employees are paid a fixed salary regardless of the hours worked in a particular day. Deducting hours from employees classified as exempt is generally not permissible. You may also be incorrectly classified as an exempt employee.
