Pers industrial disability retirement

I am a peace officer in california and was hurt at work by an inmate. I am currently on enhanced industrial disability leave and possibly facing medical retirement. Pers sent me a letter stating I would receive 50% of my pay tax free for life. Is this a negotiable issue? I am only 37 and would have received a 90% retirement if I could have worked 16 more years.

I'm sorry but I dont know the answer to your question but it seems to me that this is something that should fall under workers compensation and i would suggest consulting with an attorney in that field. it is very specialized.
