Legal Question in Employment Law in California
Personal Items in the work place
I am a school bus driver for a public school district. Recently, our supervisor gave us a directive to remove all personal items from the driver's area, dash and any storage compartments where these items were blocking emergency equipment. Less than 24 hours later he and another supervisor went through all the buses in our parking lot and threw out everything. District property and personal property. All items were then collected by another employee and tossed in the back of a pickup truck. Is this legal?
