Legal Question in Employment Law in California
My physician provided me with a letter to my employer requesting a reduction in my work hours due to my medical condition. Does my employer have the right to know my medical diagnosis causing the need for a reduction in my work hours or may I black out the specific diagnosis listed in the letter?

If you are asking your employer to reasonably accommodate you, it needs to know enough about your medical condition to enable it to determine whether it can accommodate you, without subjected itself to liability or placing others in potential danger.
