Posting my job before giving notice

If I have mentioned to my supervisor, I am investigating other job opportunties and asked if he would be comfortable giving me a recommendation. He said yes. I have NOT given notice. Is it legal for him to post a job announcement for my job?

Yes, he can also let you go on his schedule, not yours.
