Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Pre-employment discrimnation

I filed a complaint with the department of fair housing and employment in Los Angeles. The companies attorney contacted my representative at the Department of Fair housing and employment and they want to settle out of court. My representative asked me what dollar amount do I want settle for. Example of some question asked: ''Do your children have the same father? Where will you take your daughter for childcare? How much is child care? He threw my credit report at me and asked if I had seen it? He asked how did I pay for college? How did I live during college? He wanted references from jobs from1992 and 1994?'' My question is what is the average amount received in a pre-employmnet case such is this?

Re: Pre-employment discrimnation

I would need to know a lot more about your case before I or anyone could possibly tell you what you should settle for. You should seek the advice of an attorney before agreeing to anything.

Good Luck!
